Vantage West was contracted to replace three existing Air Circuit Breakers which served as the parallel main switches of the shopping centre, and the Woolworths supply protection device.
A metal fabrication workshop was mobilised to site for these shutdown works, and copper busbars were manufactured on site, as required. Works were carried out within very prescribed timeframes, such that the cold stock of Coles and Woolworths were not affected.
For the duration of the works, backup generators were deployed to service various sections of the installation. An isolation procedure was created and implemented to protect tradesmen working downstream of these generators.
Vantage West planned, documented, and implemented a safe isolation procedure to coordinate in the safe installation and removal of the backup power generators to Coles and Woolworths, and to the specialty shops.
All work was carried out within the prescribed time frames. The project was delivered safely and on budget.
The old obsolete ACBs were removed and replaced with modern Merlin Gerin units. The site now has serviceable high quality ACBs to provide uninterrupted power to the tenants.
